Electrical Manufacturing Support Engineer

About the role

This position offers a unique chance to join a specialist engineering business that designs and manufactures bespoke electro‑mechanical equipment for highly regulated sectors such as defence and advanced manufacturing. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting both legacy and new products throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review and update electrical schematics, wiring schedules and technical drawings.
• Modify and maintain 2D and 3D CAD models and associated manufacturing data packs.
• Manage Bills of Materials (BoMs) and engineering documentation.
• Identify and resolve component obsolescence, selecting and qualifying replacements.
• Support production teams with technical queries, fault resolution and build guide creation.
• Process engineering changes while preserving design integrity.
• Ensure designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, fabricators and subcontractors to guarantee correct manufacturing.
• Assist with testing, fault finding and Factory Acceptance Testing activities.

Required profile

• Practical, hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving problems across the full product lifecycle.
• Experience in electrical, manufacturing or electro‑mechanical engineering environments.
• Ability to read, interpret and produce electrical schematics.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
