About the role
We are seeking an Electrical Marine Engineering Instructor to deliver specialist training to Royal Navy personnel in Portsmouth. The role involves planning and delivering modules, assessing student performance and supporting the continuous improvement of the training programme.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver Electrical Marine Engineering training modules in line with the Training Plan and SOPs.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and within the Marine Engineering Electrical training area.
- Update training documentation, assess coursework and provide performance feedback.
- Apply best practices to drive quality and improvement activities across RN training.
- Support duty of care and progression of training during the delivery phase.
- Meet or exceed KPIs and SLAs for learning delivery and assessment, including simulated and synthetic programmes.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development and other staff to support personalised learning approaches.
- Assist stakeholders in implementing modernised training courses.
Required profile
- Experience delivering training, preferably within armed forces, defence or Royal Navy contexts.
- Understanding of training delivery, quality improvement and teaching practices, including learning technology.
- Proven ability to support continuous improvement and meet performance targets.
- Experience with Electrical Marine Engineering principles.
- Competent electrical hand skills and proficiency in using IT in the workplace.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong customer relationships.
- Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Eligibility for BPSS clearance.
