Electrical Shift Engineer – Commercial Property

About the role

This permanent position is based in Canary Wharf and supports the electrical maintenance of a large commercial property. You will join an experienced team that values staff retention and offers clear progression pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Ensure statutory compliance for all electrical systems.
• Maintain single‑ and three‑phase power, motors, generators, switchgear and emergency lighting.
• Test fire alarm systems, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, sprinkler systems, pumps and belts.
• Operate and monitor the Building Management System (BMS).
• Isolate plant and systems safely, following isolation procedures.
• Manage permits to work, complete RAMS and logbooks, and raise/close jobs via PDA.
• Coordinate subcontractors and endorse safe working practices.

Required profile

• City & Guilds/EAL/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installations/Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial electrical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems.
• Residency within a commutable distance to Canary Wharf.
