Electrical Shift Engineer

About the role

A prestigious contract is open for an Electrical Shift Engineer in Blackfriars, working 07:00-19:00 on a 2-on-2-off, 3-on-2-off, 2-on-3-off shift pattern. The engineer carries out preventive, reactive and breakdown work on all electrical systems in the site, supporting the business with no unplanned disruptions.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out PPM, reactive and breakdown works on all electrical systems, including air conditioning, UPS, generators and LV systems, using fault-finding and alarm data
• Ensure routine PPM is done according to site task schedules and asset lists, and complete reactive tasks across the building, including concessionary stores and fabric-related items
• Address plant faults and defects quickly, maintain suitable spares and provide parts inventory and estimated timescales
• Maintain the computer-based maintenance system (e.g. Concept, Smart Hub) so tickets are closed with accurate data
• Complete paperwork for reactive and breakdown works and pass it promptly to the contract administrator
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments for every task, and keep plant rooms locked, clean and tidy
• Develop management tools to report on asset and building performance and recommend improvements

Required profile

• Formal training in City and Guilds Electrical Installations or the equivalent NVQ in Building Services maintenance
• Knowledge of 18th Edition BS7671
• Ability to fault-find electrical systems and use graphical information and alarm data
