Electrical Small Works Manager

About the role

You will attend site, work out what is needed, price it, and then make sure it gets delivered on time and on budget. The role is varied and fast‑moving – some days you will be quoting, other days you will be on site keeping several jobs progressing simultaneously.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and surveys, often at short notice.
• Price and quote works up to around £50,000.
• Plan labour, materials and access, and book works with clients.
• Manage several live jobs at once, coordinating engineers, subcontractors, deliveries and programme.
• Protect margin by pricing accurately and agreeing variations.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients from enquiry through handover.
• Perform out‑of‑hours and weekend work, paid as overtime.

Required profile

• Time‑served electrician with City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition (C&G 2382) and ECS/JIB Gold Card.
• Commercial electrical experience in offices, fit‑out, banking, data centres or similar environments.
• Ability to price work from a site visit and a set of drawings.
• Experience supervising, running or pricing your own jobs, even on a smaller scale.
• Organised, able to juggle several jobs at once and confident dealing with clients.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• 18th Edition (C&G 2382) certification
• ECS/JIB Gold Card
• SimPro software knowledge
• IPAF/PASMA equipment operation
