Electrical Technician – University of Bristol

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Technician to join a brand‑new NG Bailey team supporting a flagship building at the University of Bristol. The role is days‑only with occasional weekend duties, delivering both planned and reactive electrical building‑services maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems in line with SFG20 and agreed programmes.
• Respond to reactive electrical faults, perform repairs and minor installations within contractual SLAs and KPIs.
• Maintain and fault‑find on electrical distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power and control systems.
• Record all activities, compliance documentation and job updates in the client’s CAFM system.
• Build positive relationships with university staff, colleagues and service partners while delivering excellent customer service.
• Follow health & safety procedures, risk assessments and method statements at all times.
• Support subcontractors and participate in the out‑of‑hours call‑out rota as required.

Required profile

• Proactive, customer‑focused attitude with a strong commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, newly formed team.
• Experience in commercial or facilities‑management electrical maintenance.
