Electrician – Maintenance (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrician to join the maintenance team of a leading cargo handling organisation in Northumberland. The role involves maintaining a wide range of equipment such as forklifts, cranes and heavy plant, ensuring electrical systems remain safe and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical engineering maintenance on all services, systems, plant and equipment (planned and breakdown).
• Perform electrical installation works in line with current regulations.
• Assist with loading/unloading cargo and operate plant & equipment when required.
• Provide flexible coverage for shift and weekend work as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a maintenance environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment and installation procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem‑solving and attention to detail.
• Full driving licence.
• Desirable: experience with cargo handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, heavy plant) and relevant electrical qualifications.
