Electrician – NHS Trust Estates Services

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Electrician to join a large, forward‑thinking NHS Trust delivering critical estates services across multiple hospital sites. You will work within the Estates & Facilities team, maintaining and supporting essential electrical infrastructure in both clinical and non‑clinical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, fault finding and installation on electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarms and nurse call systems.
• Work on essential infrastructure such as generators, UPS systems and standby power supplies.
• Diagnose and repair faults in line with BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Support PPM and reactive maintenance programmes across the estate.
• Contribute to installation projects and minor works.
• Maintain accurate records and support compliance across estates systems.
• Collaborate with multi‑skilled trades teams.

Required profile

• Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent).
• Experience within a complex estates environment; healthcare or public sector experience desirable.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant and equipment.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations and safe systems of work.
• Ability to work independently across a multi‑site portfolio.
