Electrician – Residential & Property Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Electrician to join our team in Ilford, delivering maintenance, repair and installation services across tenanted properties. The role is field‑based, full‑time and involves ensuring homes are safe, compliant and ready for occupation.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and replace faulty electrical accessories such as sockets, light fittings, switches and extractor fans.
• Inspect, test and certify electrical installations to current regulations and safety standards.
• Diagnose and rectify faults in consumer units (fuse boxes).
• Carry out first‑fix works, including full and partial rewires and installation of new accessories.
• Install additional socket outlets, cabling and related components as required.
• Work independently or within a team to meet daily repair and completion targets.
• Communicate clearly with tenants, maintain clean work areas and adhere to health and safety policies.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (including AM2).
• City & Guilds 18th Edition (or 17th Edition with progression to 18th).
• Inspection and Testing qualification – 2391 (or equivalent 2394/2395).
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Previous experience in domestic or social housing electrical work.
