Electro-Mechanical Engineer – Electrical Focus

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join a leading precision-machinery manufacturer in Cheltenham. The role is primarily electrical, offering a varied, hands-on environment where you will work on bespoke high-precision machines from assembly through to commissioning and on-site customer support.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly and final build of bespoke machines using detailed engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
• Fitting, aligning and securing mechanical components to exact specifications.
• Building electrical control panels and operator consoles.
• Wiring machines in accordance with schematics, installing drives, motors, sensors, switches, relays and other control equipment.
• Ensuring all electrical work complies with safety standards and is completed to a high quality.
• Performing electrical testing, fault finding, calibration and performance verification during build.
• Supporting in-house commissioning activities and preparing machines for customer acceptance.
• Carrying out installations, commissioning, servicing and technical support at customer sites in the UK and occasionally overseas.

Required profile

• Multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias and practical mechanical experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering documentation, drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Hands-on, problem-solving attitude and willingness to work on varied tasks.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK and occasional overseas assignments.
