Electro Mechanical Fitter – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electro‑Mechanical Fitter to join a leading manufacturing company in Leeds. The role involves fitting and assembling distribution and power units for a variety of industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Fit and assemble various types of distribution and power units.
• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprints and parts lists, and gathering required components and tools.
• Assemble components, ensuring correct fit and fastening of parts and sub‑assemblies.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and product quality to meet OTIF delivery requirements.
• Complete all paperwork linked to work orders and report any issues, shortages or equipment breakdowns.
• Perform area housekeeping and use general workshop machinery and hand tools.
• Carry out quality inspections of colleagues’ output.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in a mechanical/electrical environment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
• Apprentice‑trained or equivalent time‑served experience.
• Good communication, health & safety awareness and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Mechanical assembly of distribution and power units.
• Interpretation of electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Operation of workshop machinery (e.g., drills, lathes).
• Proficient use of hand tools for fitting tasks.
• Quality inspection techniques.
