Electromechanical Field Service Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, customer‑focused Electromechanical Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. Based at home within 20 miles of Oxford, you will travel across the Midlands to install, maintain and repair specialist medical, ophthalmic and robotic equipment, initially focusing on ultrasound and ophthalmology devices.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, repair and maintain specialist medical and robotic equipment at customer sites.
• Carry out equipment moves, upgrades, modifications and configuration changes.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, software and electromechanical faults.
• Provide proactive, professional support and clear communication to customers throughout each visit.
• Complete accurate service documentation and update internal systems promptly.
• Manage vehicle stock, spare parts inventory and compliant disposal of returned equipment in line with ISO and WEEE requirements.
• Adhere to health and safety standards and complete required product and technical training.

Required profile

• Strong core engineering background with hands‑on experience in electromechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot methodically and deliver high‑quality technical support.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and occasional trips to Europe.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
