Electronics Test Technician

About the role

We are seeking a permanent Electronics Test Technician to join a leading engineering client in Killingworth. The role involves testing customer‑provided products, interpreting test plans and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform product testing according to customer specifications and industry standards.
• Review and interpret test plans and related technical documentation.
• Diagnose faults down to component level on electronic assemblies using schematics.
• Debug and repair electronic components and PCBs.
• Solder components and identify parts accurately.
• Utilise diagnostic equipment to assess product performance.
• Learn and develop technical knowledge of the company’s product range.

Required profile

• Technical qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related field (e.g., NVQ, HNC).
• Strong soldering and component identification skills.
• Ability to diagnose and repair PCBs using schematic drawings.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment.
• Effective communication at all levels.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to undergo training and develop further.
