Elite Operative – Carpenter (Full‑time, £50k)

About the role

We are looking for an Elite Operative – Carpenter to join Gilmartins’ social‑housing repair team in North West London. The role offers a £50,000 basic salary, permanent full‑time employment and a company van with fuel card.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality carpentry work and complete jobs correctly the first time.
• Provide excellent customer service to tenants and maintain clear communication with office teams.
• Work safely and professionally on occupied properties, following health‑and‑safety and asbestos procedures.
• Maintain and organise van stock, keep the vehicle clean and respect company equipment.
• Use PDA and other technology to record work and follow job instructions.
• Support, mentor and coach other operatives as required.
• Take ownership of jobs from start to finish with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• Proven experience in social‑housing reactive maintenance.
• Strong reliability, attendance and time‑keeping.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage workloads independently.
• Full manual driving licence (automatic vans are not provided).
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.

Required skills

• Manual driving licence.
• Trade qualification in carpentry or related trades.
• Experience with thermal boarding and mould washes.
• Competence in using PDA/technology on site.
