Elite Operative – Floor Layer (Vinyl)

About the role

Gilmartins is seeking experienced floor layers to join its Elite Operative team, delivering high‑quality vinyl flooring across social housing properties in Brent, Harrow and Barnet.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality vinyl floor installations, including flat lay, cap & cove and patch repairs.
• Provide excellent customer service to tenants and maintain professional communication with office teams.
• Complete jobs correctly the first time while adhering to health, safety and asbestos procedures.
• Maintain attendance, time‑keeping and respect for company vehicles and equipment.
• Support and mentor fellow operatives and represent the business professionally.

Required profile

• Proven experience in social‑housing reactive maintenance.
• High standards of reliability, KPI performance and quality inspection scores.
• Ability to work independently, manage workloads under pressure and take ownership of jobs from start to finish.
• Full manual driving licence and willingness to use a company van for business purposes only.
• Strong communication skills and experience working in occupied properties.
