Embedded Electronics Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Embedded Electronics Design Engineer to join a global technology business in Banbury. The position sits within the R&D team and offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge industrial products, covering both hardware and firmware development across the full product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware in C for microcontroller‑based systems.
• Design, prototype and test electronic hardware, including schematics and PCB layouts.
• Create and debug communication interfaces such as RS232, RS485, SPI, I²C and Ethernet.
• Support power electronics design, including DC‑DC converters and constant‑current circuits up to 60 V.
• Maintain BOMs, design revisions and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturability, reliability and EMC compliance.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in embedded systems and electronics design.
• Hands‑on experience with microcontroller platforms (PIC, Arduino, ARM Cortex‑M).
• Ability to work across hardware and firmware domains and follow a product from concept to production.

Required skills

• Embedded C programming

• Altium Designer or Proteus for PCB design
• Analogue and digital circuit design
• ADC and DAC interfacing
