Embedded Software Consultant – Defence (Cambridge)

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test embedded software solutions using Embedded C.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and physics engineers to integrate software with hardware prototypes.
• Participate in code reviews, verification activities and documentation for defence standards.
• Support the evolution of software architecture as the project matures.

Required profile

• Degree in software, electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Ability to obtain UK security clearance.
• Experience ranging from 1‑2 years up to senior level in complex technical environments.
• Interest in defence or other high‑technology sectors.

Required skills

• Embedded C programming.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or MATLAB.
• Experience with hardware prototyping and software‑hardware integration.
