Embedded Software Engineer – Hybrid (Oxfordshire)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our innovative technology team in Oxfordshire. You will design, develop and test embedded software that powers complex hardware products, working closely with hardware, systems and product engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software applications using C/C++.
• Develop firmware for micro‑controller based platforms and integrate it with hardware.
• Debug and troubleshoot both software and hardware issues.
• Write clean, efficient, reliable code and perform code reviews.
• Support testing, validation and release processes, and produce technical documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development tools and processes.

Required profile

• Commercial experience developing embedded software.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++.
• Hands‑on experience with micro‑controllers and embedded systems.
• Understanding of embedded development principles and debugging techniques.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C and CAN.
• Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
