Embedded Systems Hardware Engineer – Oxford (Hybrid)

About the role

Our client, a next‑generation manufacturing company, designs bespoke controllers for aerospace applications. They are looking for an Embedded Systems Hardware Engineer to turn prototype controller configurations into production‑ready solutions, improving functionality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware for electric motor controllers, including component selection, schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Rapidly implement hardware solutions to support new engine ancillaries.
• Contribute to testing activities to ensure controller reliability and robustness.
• Work within an agile, fast‑paced development team alongside other engineers.
• Collaborate to solve complex problems with innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in embedded systems hardware design.
• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience.
• Excellent understanding of PCB design best practices from component selection to layout.
• Experience with both hardware and firmware design projects.
• Effective communicator who promotes collaboration and innovation.
