EMEA Payroll Manager – 10‑month contract, hybrid, London

About the role

We are looking for an experienced EMEA Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations across 12‑14 countries. The role is initially a 10‑month contract with the possibility to become permanent for the right candidate. You will work in a hybrid model, spending two days a week in our Hammersmith office.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
• Oversee statutory reporting, audits and compliance with local regulations.
• Manage payroll vendor performance against SLAs and governance standards.
• Act as the escalation point for payroll‑related issues and resolve them swiftly.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of 5‑6 payroll analysts.
• Drive payroll transformation initiatives, system improvements and best‑practice implementations.
• Oversee stock options, RSUs and incentive‑related payroll activities.
• Partner with HR, Finance and senior business leaders to meet statutory deadlines and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing payroll in a multi‑country EMEA environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax and compliance across several jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop payroll teams within a large organisation.
• High analytical ability with strong attention to detail.
• Experience working under IR35 contracts is advantageous.

What we offer

• Day rate up to £397 via an umbrella company (equivalent to ~£77k permanent).
• Hybrid working model – 2 days in the office.
