EMEA Payroll Specialist (Netherlands & Nordic)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing construction firm in the City of London that is expanding its European footprint. The EMEA Payroll Specialist will take full ownership of payroll operations for the Netherlands and Nordic countries, acting as the primary liaison with external payroll bureaus and senior finance leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Process and deliver accurate monthly payroll for all European entities, with direct responsibility for the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
• Manage relationships with outsourced payroll providers, ensuring service‑level agreements and local compliance are met.
• Monitor and apply changes to statutory regulations, tax codes, social security and labour laws across the EMEA region.
• Prepare and present payroll variance, headcount and cost analysis reports to senior management.
• Resolve internal and external queries on deductions, tax codes and international benefits as the subject‑matter expert.

Required profile

• Proven experience in international payroll, preferably within a project‑driven environment such as construction, engineering or logistics.
• Hands‑on expertise in Dutch payroll compliance and Nordic payroll systems and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage third‑party payroll vendors and hold them accountable to agreed standards.
• Strong analytical mindset with the capacity to translate data into actionable insights.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data manipulation).
