Emerging Markets Sovereign Analyst (London)

About the role

As an Emerging Markets Sovereign Analyst based in London, you will support the investment team by identifying and evaluating bond opportunities across emerging economies. Your macro‑economic insights and issuance analysis will directly influence trading decisions and portfolio performance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive macro‑event analysis and monitor economic indicators to spot trends and risks in emerging market bond markets.
• Analyse issuance activity, assess credit quality, and produce research on companies and sovereigns issuing bonds.
• Stay current on political, social, and economic developments that could affect bond valuations.
• Collaborate with traders, researchers, and fellow analysts to develop investment recommendations.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, International Relations or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience on an Emerging Markets desk or a comparable financial‑markets role.
• Strong understanding of economic principles and bond‑market dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• CFA qualification or progress toward it is advantageous.
