Employee Relations and Change Specialist

About the role

Merrifield Consultants is partnering with one of the UK’s largest health charities to hire an Employee Relations and Change Specialist. You will act as the trusted advisor for managers, providing high‑quality advice on employee relations matters while supporting organisation‑wide change programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of complex employee relations cases, including absence, performance, conduct, grievance, wellbeing and flexible working.
• Provide expert advice and coaching to managers on employment law, policy and best practice.
• Lead investigations, ensuring fair, consistent and timely outcomes.
• Partner with leaders to design and deliver people‑focused change initiatives, such as consultations, redeployment and redundancy processes.
• Facilitate consultation meetings and respond to employee queries throughout change projects.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with internal processes and legislation.
• Build strong relationships across the organisation to promote a positive, inclusive culture.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases from start to finish.
• Proven ability to influence and coach managers on people‑management decisions.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience delivering organisational change programmes, including communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent analytical, investigative and written communication skills.
