Employee Relations Business Partner

About the role

This permanent position supports a leading investment and pensions organisation in London. As part of a newly created People Business Partnering team, you will focus on Employee Relations, managing a complex caseload and acting as a trusted adviser to managers and senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence and workplace conflict cases.
• Provide expert advice on UK employment law, policy and best practice.
• Coach managers to build confidence in handling ER matters.
• Support investigations and recommend balanced outcomes.
• Review and develop people policies and procedures.
• Identify emerging people risks through case data and insight.
• Assist organisational change initiatives and liaise with trade unions or employee representatives when required.

Required profile

• CIPD qualified or working towards a relevant CIPD qualification.
• Significant Employee Relations experience with a proven track record of managing high‑risk cases from start to finish.
• Deep knowledge of disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management and UK employment law.
• Experience in financial services, professional services or another highly regulated environment.
• Confident coaching, influencing and challenging managers and senior stakeholders.
• Experience developing people policies and supporting organisational change.
• Commercially minded, solutions‑focused and able to balance technical expertise with pragmatic business advice.
• Available to start immediately or within a one‑month notice period.
