Employee Relations Specialist

About the role

Our client, a leading national health and social care charity, is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join their HR team. This permanent, full‑time position is home‑based with occasional travel and offers a competitive salary of up to £40,000 per year plus benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide people advice that aligns with organisational policies, best practice and employment legislation.
• Mentor and coach People Advisers, ensuring up‑to‑date employment law knowledge.
• Act as the escalation point for complex, contentious cases, overseeing gross misconduct and dismissal processes.
• Support line managers with formal and informal disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and welfare cases up to senior management level.
• Manage and prioritise caseloads, reviewing case status and coordinating with People Advisers.

Required profile

• Significant experience in an employee‑relations focused HR role.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and handling complex employee‑relations cases.
• Broad HR expertise across recruitment, reward, OD, change management, engagement and learning.
• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification; an employment‑law qualification is highly desirable.
