Employment Advisor - Education Lead

About the role

Unity Works is seeking an Employment Advisor – Education Lead to join our Southwark team on a part‑time, fixed‑term basis. You will act as the bridge between education settings and the world of work, helping young people with SEND explore career pathways, build aspirations, and access meaningful employment opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging workshops, career‑guidance sessions and information events for young people with SEND.
• Develop and maintain authentic relationships with schools, colleges, families and SEND professionals to support smooth transitions from education to employment.
• Collaborate with inclusive employers and partner organisations to create tailored pathways, internships and job‑coaching opportunities.
• Provide one‑to‑one guidance, helping individuals understand local skills, training and employment routes.
• Monitor and report on progress, ensuring young people make confident, informed choices about their futures.

Required profile

• Strong belief in inclusion and equal access to employment for people with learning disabilities.
• Ability to build authentic relationships with education providers, families and SEND specialists.
• Confidence delivering workshops and information sessions to diverse audiences.
• Good knowledge of local skills, training and employment pathways.
• Passion for inspiring young people to explore future opportunities.
