Employment Advisor

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a Bexleyheath-based Local Authority for an experienced Employment Advisor. Working full-time from our Central Bexleyheath office, you will help local residents overcome barriers to work and achieve sustainable employment outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload and provide tailored employment support.
• Conduct assessments and develop personalised action plans.
• Assist clients with job searching, CV writing, applications and interview preparation.
• Identify and address barriers to employment, signposting to relevant services.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers, training providers and partner agencies.
• Motivate clients to engage with employment and training opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with programme and local authority requirements.
• Monitor progress and work towards agreed employment outcomes and targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Employment Advisor, Job Coach, Employment Support Officer, Work Coach or similar role.
• Experience in welfare-to-work, return-to-work or related programmes.
• Ability to engage and support vulnerable, disengaged or resistant clients.
• Strong communication, coaching and motivational abilities.
• Excellent organisational and case-management skills.
• Competent IT skills and experience maintaining accurate customer records.
• Willingness to work fully office-based in Central Bexleyheath.
• Ability to pass a Standard DBS check.
