Employment Consultant – Support People with Disabilities

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Employment Consultant to help individuals with disabilities or health‑related needs overcome barriers and secure sustainable, meaningful work. You will work across the New Forest and Southampton area, travelling to local hubs and community centres as required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants, delivering personalised, person‑centred employability support.
• Conduct detailed assessments and develop structured Action Plans with SMART targets.
• Provide one‑to‑one and group coaching to build confidence, skills and job readiness.
• Research the local labour market, identify suitable vacancies and match participants to roles.
• Engage proactively with employers, supporting pre‑screening, assessments and candidate matching.
• Build and maintain relationships with referral partners, external agencies and specialist support services.
• Offer in‑work support to both participants and employers to ensure successful job starts and long‑term retention.
• Maintain accurate case records and meet all reporting, compliance and safeguarding requirements.

Required profile

• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or health‑related needs.
• Proven ability to work in a target‑driven environment and meet KPIs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
• Understanding of contractual and quality standards within a recruitment or support setting.

What we offer

• Salary between £30,000 and £32,000 per year, dependent on experience.
