Employment Director (EMEA) – Remote

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Employment Director to lead employment law matters across the EMEA region for a fast‑growing international financial services organisation. Reporting to the Group General Counsel, you will act as the principal legal adviser on workforce issues, partnering with senior leaders and the People function.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial, risk‑aware advice on employee relations, disciplinary actions, grievances, performance management, investigations, redundancies and restructures.
• Monitor and interpret employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring ongoing compliance.
• Manage employment‑related claims, liaise with external counsel and support settlement negotiations.
• Draft, review and update employment contracts, policies, handbooks and related documentation.
• Identify legal risks linked to workforce decisions and propose practical mitigation strategies.
• Support employee incentive and equity programmes from a legal and governance perspective.
• Contribute to broader legal initiatives, including commercial contracts and supplier agreements.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with extensive experience in employment law across several EMEA jurisdictions.
• Commercially minded with a proven ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior leadership.
• Experience working in or advising financial services organisations is desirable.
