Employment Growth Manager – Lead Recruitment

About the role

The Employment Growth Manager (Lead Recruitment Manager) will drive employer engagement and business development across the North East region. Reporting to the Head of Delivery Support, you will manage strategic partnerships, develop sector routeways and oversee large employer accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve an employer engagement strategy for the assigned area.
• Build and maintain relationships with regional employers, sector bodies and the Curriculum Team to secure bulk vacancies.
• Develop and coordinate sector routeways, aligning training initiatives with employer needs.
• Manage large employer accounts, including pre‑screening candidates and overseeing the full recruitment process in collaboration with Operations teams.
• Motivate, coach and develop the recruitment team to ensure smooth delivery of the customer journey.
• Identify short‑ and long‑term employment growth opportunities and organise events to promote services.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in a sales‑focused role with management responsibility.
• Proven ability to engage and influence local employers and sector organisations.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Willingness to travel to offices in Durham, Gateshead, Spennymoor and Peterlee.
