Employment & Pensions Solicitor – Associate

About the role

AJ Chambers are working with a growing law firm in Central London. They are currently recruiting for an Employment & Pensions Associate to join their team.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for the day‑to‑day running of a caseload, advising on routine matters such as misconduct, sickness absence and grievances.
• Provide TUPE advice, draft documents and conduct Employment Tribunal litigation up to the hearing stage.
• Prepare, negotiate and advise on Settlement Agreements for both employers and employees.
• Advise on restructures, undertake due diligence and support other departments on people‑related projects.
• Prepare and deliver training to clients on employment‑related topics.
• Support Partners on large and complex matters, manage client expectations and meet deadlines.
• Achieve time‑recording and billing targets while efficiently managing multiple case deadlines.
• Contribute to marketing and business development in a client‑focused manner.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years' post‑qualification experience as an Employment Lawyer, admitted to practice as a Solicitor in England & Wales.
• CILEx lawyers must have Civil Litigation Practice Rights.
• Strong academic background with a 2.1 degree or higher.
• Sound knowledge of employment law and ability to prioritize workload.
• Commercial awareness, proactivity and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
