Employment Professional Support Lawyer (Part‑time)

About the role

This part‑time position offers an experienced Employment Solicitor or Professional Support Lawyer the chance to move away from fee‑earning work and focus on knowledge management, training and strategic advice within a leading law firm in Reading.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret developments in UK employment law, including case law and legislation.
• Design and deliver training programmes, workshops and legal updates for solicitors and trainees.
• Draft, maintain and update precedents, templates and other know‑how resources.
• Provide technical support on complex employment law queries.
• Produce client‑facing insights, articles and thought‑leadership content.
• Support business‑development and pitch material with technical input.
• Promote consistency and best practice across the Employment team.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with strong employment law experience, ideally 4+ years post‑qualification.
• Experience as a Professional Support Lawyer/Knowledge Lawyer or a clear interest in transitioning to such a role.
• Excellent drafting, training and communication abilities.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate legal developments into practical guidance.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UK employment law, HR advisory work and tribunal processes.
