Employment Solicitor (5-10 PQE)

About the role

Harrison Drury is seeking a qualified Employment Solicitor with 5‑10 years post‑qualification experience to join its Employment & HR team in Lancaster or Kendal. You will manage a varied respondent caseload, develop new business opportunities and support senior fee earners across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with clients, attend meetings and provide timely advice.
• Analyse cases, produce guidance and manage client queries.
• Handle Employment Tribunal matters through to conclusion, acting for respondents.
• Attend Court and Tribunal hearings, coordinate with counsel and experts.
• Delegate work to junior fee earners and supervise their progress.
• Collaborate with administration to meet deadlines and procedural requirements.
• Support business development by identifying and referring work internally.

Required profile

• Qualified associate or senior associate solicitor with 5‑10 years PQE.
• Experience in business client/respondent work, preferably in a commercial law firm.
• Proven ability to advise owners, senior managers and HR teams on employment and HR matters.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail and case‑management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
