Employment Solicitor – Litigation (Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join a well‑established litigation team in Manchester. You will take full ownership of Employment Tribunal matters, guiding cases from the initial claim through to hearing preparation and resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Review Employment Tribunal claims and draft ET3 responses.
• Provide clients with clear merit, risk and commercial assessments.
• Manage disclosure and prepare hearing and trial bundles.
• Conduct settlement and conciliation negotiations on behalf of clients.
• Draft applications, correspondence and other tribunal documentation.
• Prepare witness evidence and finalise witness statements.
• Liaise directly with clients, tribunals and claimant representatives.
• Undertake preliminary Employment Tribunal advocacy, both remotely and occasionally in person.
• Support and guide trainees and junior colleagues as required.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with strong employment law and Employment Tribunal litigation experience.
• Proven ability to manage cases independently and advise clients on risk and strategy.
• Commercially focused with excellent client care.
• Enjoys the contentious side of employment law and can handle a high‑volume, varied caseload.
