Employment Specialist – IPS (Mental Health)

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s largest charities for Employment Specialist positions across several London boroughs. The role helps people living with mental or physical health conditions secure and sustain employment, using the Individual Placement Support (IPS) model.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with CV writing, interview preparation, job searching and settling into new roles.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to identify suitable job opportunities.
• Collaborate with NHS teams, Jobcentre staff and other community partners to coordinate support.
• Manage a personal caseload and diary, ensuring timely follow‑up and progress tracking.
• Work primarily in the community – visiting Jobcentres, NHS sites, council offices and meeting clients in cafés.

Required profile

• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals (paid or voluntary) or at least 12 months in a target‑driven environment such as recruitment, sales or customer service.
• Resilient, organised and comfortable working independently while meeting targets.
• Commitment to safeguarding and understanding of confidentiality requirements.

• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to varied daily tasks.

What we offer

• Full IPS training and ongoing coaching from a Team Leader.
• Permanent, full‑time contract (Monday‑Friday, 9am‑5pm) with a salary of £32,000‑£35,000, DOE.
