Energy Claims Adjuster

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Claims Adjuster to manage a diverse portfolio of energy‑related insurance claims for a respected London market insurer. You will handle cases from initial advice through to settlement, working both on a lead and follow basis.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of upstream, downstream, renewables and power energy claims within a designated authority.
• Conduct initial evaluations of cause of loss and determine the insurer’s response based on policy and underwriting documentation.
• Set and maintain accurate claim reserves in the claims system.
• Liaise with clients, loss adjusters, solicitors, experts, brokers, MGAs, TPAs, underwriters, risk managers, finance, and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain audit‑ready records and prepare regulatory reports.
• Support senior claims team in achieving strategic objectives and developing broker engagement strategies.
• Assist in the management of international programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling energy claims on both lead and follow basis.
• Strong understanding of technical and legal requirements in the London market.
• Good knowledge of insurance principles, energy policy coverage, and current regulations.
• Effective communication and vendor/expert management skills.
• 5+ years of relevant experience is desirable.
