Energy Quant Analyst

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Quant Analyst to join a leading financial firm’s commodities team in Central London. You will design and implement sophisticated pricing and risk models for the European energy market, supporting trading and sales activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop advanced mathematical models for pricing, risk assessment, and hedging of power and gas derivatives.
• Integrate models into internal quantitative frameworks and trading systems, ensuring thorough testing and documentation.
• Maintain and enhance existing financial models, troubleshoot issues, and optimise performance.
• Strengthen risk infrastructure to help traders manage exposures and analyse market data.
• Collaborate closely with trading and sales teams to address challenges and identify new opportunities.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of power and gas markets.
• Advanced degree (MSc, PhD or equivalent) in a quantitative discipline.
• Hands‑on experience in a front‑office trading environment.
• Proven expertise in pricing derivatives and implementing hedging strategies.
