Energy & Sustainability Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Energy & Sustainability Project Manager to join our growing Sustainability & Engineering team in Manchester. The role involves delivering energy audits, identifying carbon‑reduction opportunities and managing technical projects that help UK organisations move towards Net Zero.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site energy audits nationwide, supporting ESOS compliance.
• Identify and quantify energy and carbon reduction opportunities.
• Specify and manage delivery of sub‑metering projects.
• Project‑manage implementation of technical solutions such as Solar PV, voltage optimisation, compressed air systems, heat pumps and other energy‑efficiency technologies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and technical partners.
• Provide technical support to the sustainability team on carbon‑reduction strategies and Net Zero roadmaps.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging energy technologies, legislation and industry best practice.
• Support energy data analysis and reporting, including CCA, EII and SECR requirements.

Required profile

• Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering or technical discipline.
• Proven experience conducting energy audits and/or managing technical projects in an industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of at least two building‑services systems (e.g., HVAC, lighting, steam, refrigeration, manufacturing processes).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and numerical ability with attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
