Engineer – Camberwell

About the role

Elis UK Limited is seeking a motivated Engineer to join its Camberwell site. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern (day and evening) and includes one Saturday per month. You will support industrial laundry equipment and contribute to continuous improvement across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out remedial engineering work on industrial laundry machinery as directed.
• Record Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) data accurately in the CMMS.
• Diagnose faults in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and schematics.
• Travel to off‑site training facilities or other group factories when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
• Level 3/4 NVQ engineering qualification; HND or C&G equivalent is a distinct advantage.
• Apprentice‑trained with BTEC background.
• Proficient in both electrical and mechanical trades.
• Self‑motivated, able to make decisions quickly and communicate effectively at all levels.

Required skills

• Electrical circuits and wiring (BS 7671, IET regulations).
• Pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings/schematics.
• Fault‑finding and logical troubleshooting.
• CMMS data entry and PPM recording.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
