Engineering Build Supervisor – Oxford

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Build Supervisor for a high‑tech manufacturing business in Oxford. The successful candidate will lead the Assembly & Test Technician team, ensuring safe, on‑time delivery of assembly and test work while building technical capability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, assign and re‑plan assembly and test tasks to meet safety, quality and delivery targets.
• Remove blockers, manage daily priorities and maintain a clear work pipeline for technicians.
• Own and continuously improve scheduling, resourcing and capacity planning.
• Develop, maintain and update work instructions, SOPs and operational documentation.
• Support technicians with build/test issues, escalation and development.
• Maintain 5S standards and drive Lean/continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Required profile

• Strong engineering mindset with ability to understand technical concepts.
• Experience leading assembly/test or manufacturing technician teams in fast‑paced, lab‑based hardware environments.
• Proven ability to plan and allocate work in a priority‑shifting setting.
• Track record of implementing 5S, Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
