Engineering Buyer

About the role

Our client is an international trading and procurement business with a strong engineering focus. Based in South West London, the Engineering Buyer will source spare parts and assemblies for manufacturing customers in the Middle East, working with suppliers across Europe and the Far East. The role offers exposure to global supply chains, supplier negotiation and the chance to travel to industry trade fairs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement cycle from enquiry to purchase order.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to international suppliers.
• Evaluate quotations on cost, quality, lead‑time and commercial terms.
• Calculate margins, prepare detailed costings and produce customer quotations.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and commercial agreements.
• Raise and monitor purchase orders using an ERP/SAP system.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information and contracts in internal systems.
• Provide administrative support to the engineering team, handling telephone and email enquiries.

Required profile

• A qualification in Engineering, Technical Studies or a Science‑related discipline.

Required skills

• Experience using ERP/SAP for procurement processes.
