Engineering Geologist – Glasgow

About the role

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to recruit an Engineering Geologist to join its growing Glasgow office. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of infrastructure, commercial, residential and energy projects across Scotland and the wider UK, combining site‑based and office‑based responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise ground investigations, including rotary, cable percussion and window sample drilling.
• Log soil and rock in accordance with current British Standards.
• Oversee trial pitting, soakaway testing and in‑situ testing.
• Produce factual ground investigation reports.
• Schedule and review geotechnical laboratory testing.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and the wider design team.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in ground investigation or engineering geology.
• Confident supervising site investigations and subcontractors.
• Experience logging soil and rock to British Standards.
• Factual ground investigation reporting experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
