Engineering Lead

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Lead to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Stroud, Gloucestershire. You will be responsible for ensuring plant and electrical equipment are returned to operation safely and efficiently, while supporting the wider engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Identify failure modes of plant and electrical equipment and implement safe, timely repairs.
• Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns, liaising with day‑shift engineering teams to resolve long‑term issues.
• Locate and manage spare parts using the maintenance management system, and return spares to stores.
• Obtain and update maintenance schedules, recording work via notifications.
• Carry out preventive maintenance routines and collaborate with Maintenance Engineers to meet planned maintenance schedules.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead engineering activities and motivate a team.
• Strong reporting skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Completed an apprenticeship as a Maintenance Engineer.
• Relevant qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
