Engineering Lead – Sterile Services (Full Time)

About the role

The Engineering Lead will provide maintenance, testing, validation and breakdown support for the Braintree Ramsay Decontamination Hub. You will work closely with the Group Estates Manager and other lead engineers to ensure safe, reliable operation of all TSSU equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the Engineering Planned Preventative Maintenance routine as defined in SOP manuals.
• Carry out statutory insurance inspections and resolve any remedial actions.
• Minimise production delays by responding quickly to unplanned outages and planning preventative work.
• Participate in governance meetings, on‑call rota and health & safety compliance activities.
• Act as the first point of contact for external contractors, ensuring permits to work are completed.
• Support and train apprentices and help reduce reliance on external contractors over time.

Required profile

• City & Guilds Part 1/2, NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (essential).
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to balance breakdown priorities with planned maintenance.
