Engineering Lecturer – Northeast (Temporary & Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Engineering Lecturers to join further‑education colleges across the Northeast. The role can be sessional, temporary or permanent and covers a range of engineering subjects, from mechanical and electrical to manufacturing, fabrication and welding. You will deliver both theoretical and hands‑on lessons that prepare learners for industry or further study.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging engineering lessons that meet curriculum and awarding‑body standards.
• Teach theoretical concepts and practical skills in workshops and classrooms.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare students for employment, apprenticeships or progression to higher education.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum delivery and learner outcomes.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in an engineering discipline.
• Relevant industry experience in engineering.
• Recognised teaching qualification.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
