Engineering Lecturer – T Level & HNC/D Programs

About the role

New College Swindon is seeking an experienced Engineering Lecturer to deliver high‑quality teaching across its T Level Engineering and Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/D) programmes. You will inspire learners, develop practical skills and prepare them for modern engineering careers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment for T Level and HNC/D engineering courses.
• Plan and deliver practical lessons covering CAD, engineering design, electronics, electrical principles, manufacturing processes and mechanical engineering.
• Monitor student progress, provide timely feedback and act as a personal tutor.
• Integrate industry‑standard software and equipment into classroom activities.
• Support industry placements, employer‑led projects and develop employer relationships.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree or higher qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience teaching, training or mentoring in an engineering environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of CAD, electronics and manufacturing engineering.
• Understanding of Level 3 engineering qualifications and higher education pathways.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner welfare.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or Fusion 360.
• Knowledge of computer‑aided design principles.
• Experience in electronics, electrical principles and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
