Engineering Manager – SaaS Start‑Up (Outside IR35)

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team at a fast‑growing SaaS start‑up that powers global brands in the gaming, Roblox and creator economy space. This is a people‑first, non‑hands‑on position focused on coaching, delivery and strategic partnership with product and technology leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a talented engineering team, fostering career growth.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery: sprint planning, backlog refinement, release management.
• Collaborate with Product and the CTO to scope work, set priorities and mitigate technical risks.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, collaboration and tooling.
• Play a central role in hiring, interviewing and expanding the engineering organisation.
• Champion AI‑enabled engineering tools and modern development practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams in a SaaS or product‑led environment.
• Strong delivery and stakeholder management skills, with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) experience.
• Passion for developing people and building high‑performing engineering cultures.
• Experience hiring and scaling engineering teams.
• Interest in embedding AI tools across the software development lifecycle.
