Engineering Manager – Structural Steel & Bridges

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager with extensive experience in structural steel, bridges and heavy engineering to lead a high‑performing team at our Gloucestershire facility. The role involves taking ownership of an established engineering function, driving technical excellence and delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of engineers, supporting performance, training and career progression.
• Oversee engineering design outputs, including calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with UK and international design standards and engineering codes.
• Manage engineering resources and project priorities to achieve successful delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes, systems and standards.
• Provide technical leadership for structural steel and bridge projects.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Strong experience in structural steel, bridges, infrastructure or heavy engineering.
• Previous leadership or management experience within an engineering environment.
• Deep understanding of structural design principles and relevant engineering standards.
