Engineering Manager – Technical Contract Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to act as the primary technical liaison for high‑profile commercial assets in Central London. The role combines client‑facing diplomacy with hands‑on oversight of complex M&E systems, ensuring seamless operation and strategic partnership with landlords and tenants.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the trusted client ambassador, delivering clear executive updates on M&E performance and SLA/KPI reporting.
• Lead monthly and quarterly progress reviews, presenting compliance metrics and asset performance insights.
• Act as the final on‑site escalation point for HV/LV distribution, HVAC, chillers, steam/gas plant and smart BMS controls.
• Maintain showroom‑standard condition of plant rooms, workshops and critical infrastructure.
• Direct emergency response to plant failures, produce root‑cause analyses and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
• Guarantee 100 % statutory compliance across M&E, water hygiene and life‑safety systems, managing digital and physical logbooks.
• Oversee site‑specific RAMS, Permit‑to‑Work procedures and the governance of Authorised and Competent Persons.
• Mentor a resident team of supervisors, engineers and contract support staff while auditing specialist subcontractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Technical Contract Manager, Engineering Manager or Senior Technical Account Manager on high‑profile commercial sites.
• Strong track record of client relationship management at C‑suite level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage third‑party contractors.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with a focus on safety and compliance.
