Engineering Team Leader – Manufacturing

About the role
We are seeking an Engineering Team Leader to head the maintenance function within a fast‑paced food manufacturing site in North London. You will be responsible for driving equipment reliability, minimising downtime and leading a team of maintenance engineers to support production performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support day‑to‑day activities of the maintenance engineering team, ensuring effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance.
- Act as the engineering lead during operational incidents, managing communication and escalation.
- Develop and monitor engineering KPIs, maintenance plans and continuous‑improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Hygiene and Health & Safety to enhance operational performance and food safety.
- Oversee engineering stores, spare‑parts management and CMMS utilisation.
Required profile
- Previous engineering experience in chilled food manufacturing or FMCG production.
- Proven experience leading or supervising engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Effective problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and decision‑making skills.
Required skills
- Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
